XVI Conference on Geographic Information Technologies
Just today, 25 of June of 2014 and until the 27 will be celebrating in the University of Alicante the XVI National Congress of Technologies of Gegoráfica Information.
This event is organized within the framework of the Geographical Information Technologies Working Group of the Association of Spanish Geographers (AGE), with the aim of promoting knowledge and the most recent advances in the geospatial context. Let us remember that the last editions have taken place in Granada (2006), Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (2008), Seville (2010) and Madrid (2012).
The objective of this meeting is to bring together a large group of experts whose professions are linked to land management (scientists, professionals, institutions and companies) around the latest advances in the field of Geographic Information Technologies, as well as to put highlight its transversal and integrating role in strategic matters for the economic and social development of our country (natural resources, territory, tourism and citizen services, among others). With this integrating vision, we want to demonstrate the need for geographers, biologists, geologists, physicists, mathematicians, engineers, architects and other experts, to be able and should work together to guarantee that these technologies are used in an efficient way and contribute to promoting a new culture. Of the territory.
