Publish OGC services from GvSIG
Previously saw since from Manifold it was possible to publish web services, from the desktop platform; also when creating this we saw that there is an option to have an interface page for WFS and WMS standards.
Just now it has been announced that the publication extension for gvSIG 1.1.x is now available, which allows the user to publish geospatial information and metadata through standard OGC web services, from the gvSIG interface itself and without having to do it directly on the corresponding server software.
In this way, without a specific knowledge of these applications, the gvSIG user will be able to publish on the internet, with extreme simplicity, the cartography and metadata that it generates.
This first version specifically allows publishing geospatial information on the following servers and through the following services:
- Mapserver: WMS, WCS and WFS.
- Geoserver: WFS.
It is available in the Extensions section of the gvSIG website (http://www.gvsig.gva.es/index.php?id=2010&L=0).
The construction of this extension has been developed thanks to the collaboration of the City Council of Munich (Germany), apart from the two institutions directly linked to GvSIG (Conselleria de Infraestructuras y Transporte Generalitat and IVER)
To install this extension it is necessary to have the 1.1.x version of gvSIG installed correctly.
