Preparing for the ArcGIS course

A little less than a week, I begin to feel the stress of an ArcGIS course, of those who come out who knows whereWhat do you accept, do not you know? when, and that suddenly you are already committed.

arcgis cadastre

It is a group of enthusiasts who do not want to complicate with unknown software, who have the money and hope to integrate ArcGIS. For a moment I wanted to offer you other options, but in this case, ArcGIS is the best option for you, due to a number of circumstances, including the availability of manuals and the time I don't have for a longer course.

They require integrating a cadastral system, which I see includes files with succulent topological cleaning. It gave me satisfaction to know that these maps were built by the person who taught me Microstation a few years ago, hence the dirt they have is the product of crazy maintenance and innocence in not applying the Historical. This would make it easier to know where the changes and possible topological errors are.

icon_arcgis For now, I have made them a diet proposal, because neither they have, nor do I have the time, especially if you have to travel a couple of hours. In two weekends the classroom training will be covered, with tasks for the week and a support of two weeks via Gmail chat.

In addition, it will be necessary to give you a step-by-step tutorial of the most common 7 routines, among which has been identified:

  • CAD data integration
  • Integration into the database
  • Analysis with other layers for planning
  • Cadastral maintenance
  • Generating maps for printing
  • Interaction with Google Earth

There I will tell you how I am doing, for now I have demanded that they have the machines ready and send me examples of the data to be conforming the geodatabase. And if all goes well, maybe those step-by-step tutorials and support tips will end up loaded on this blog.

With respect to the manuals, I do not have any of ArcGIS more than those obtained there on the web. And with the guide I am preparing for the municipality that I will be accompanying, when I have it I will be sharing it here, I am still raw.

    Hello friend Carlos.
A pleasure to know that this space has served you, is a reason for being blog. Your subject is broad, and I could not in an answer give you magic formulas, however I will give you some criteria that may be useful.

If you have commercial software licenses, where you have invested considerable amounts, I do not recommend migrating to free software. For migration also involves another investment.

But if you have not invested much, and you have the ability to invest part of what was planned for licensing and development, gvSIG, PostGIS, mapserver, Bender or qGIS are platforms with sufficient maturity for construction and publication, with online support with the communities that drive its implementation. Even Venezuela is a territory where there are favorable conditions for these purposes.

About visiting them ... I would have to see it with my time, but have the confidence to write me to the editor (at) geofumadas (dot) com email and we can talk about ways I can help you.

    Greetings to Venezuela

Greetings, my friend, I am an active visitor to your page, look at the current times we are working here in the state called caipatal de venezuela in a project called lara digital where the geographic information system of our state is one of the fundamental pieces of the project. We are working with argis 9.1 and for the publication in the wed under flex which the api that is in the network has served us a great help, but the people of the esri have provided us with a demo, if it is possible that will send to my mail the manuals of the course that you are doing as well as the possibility of if you have some manuals of argis we would love to help us. Look another thing that I commented is that we have explored the need to migrate to free software you know the cost of the people of Esri but I have not got a guide a person who tells me what is the best in open sorce, look I think you are the Potato of the ice cream is that the person very prepared in GIS would like you to help me and if you want send a proposal for you to visit our city. Waiting for your contribution and your help to the aspect is dismissed very coordially from the warm lands of Barquisimeto- Venezuela. An active geofumada visitor.
