Microstation: Problems with letter ñ and accents

This problem is common, whether they gave us a file, we imported it from AutoCAD or we are just working. It happens that when using special characters, such as the letter ñ, texts with accents or symbols such as #, @,% that are frequent in the plans are not seen, they are shown well in the dialog box but when placed they are seen as a sign of question mark or asterisk.

It is not that the text is not well written, it is that the type of font used does not coincide with the character tables. There will be other ways to solve it but here my quick suggestion:

Change the font to a less strange one

Microstation ñ and accents

For this, we select all the text that we are interested in changing, this can be done by Selection by attributes. If these are in a single layer much easier.

To do this with an individual line or paragraph, just double click on the text, if you want to do massively use the command Text edit, Shown in the picture.

It is appropriate to use common fonts in Windows, such as:

Courier New

If we want a light source, similar to ENGENEERING is recommended the

As final advice, as in any work from Office to graphic design, we must avoid complex letters, we make plans we do not fill diplomas.
