Leica Geosystems incorporates a new 3D laser scanning package

Leica BLK360 scanner

The new package consists of the laser image scanner Leica BLK360, the desktop software Leica Cyclone REGISTER 360 (BLK Edition) and the Leica Cyclone FIELD 360 for tablets and phones. Customers can get started right away with seamless connectivity and workflows from Leica Geosystems reality capture products to Autodesk reality computing and design solutions. With this package, Leica Geosystems will offer point cloud production, while Autodesk technology will consume the data.

“We have been on a journey with Autodesk to democratize the reality capture landscape through a combination of software and sensor technology”…."This new package provides an improved and seamless capture consumption workflow for our customers with direct connectivity to the Autodesk ecosystem." Faheem Khan, Vice President of Survey Solutions at Leica Geosystems.

The new streamlined workflow supports scan control, optional pre-registration, and geotagging in the field. It includes automated and scalable registration and a quality control workflow that fully integrates with other Leica Geosystems reality capture solutions, such as Leica CloudWorx plug-ins for Autodesk products.

“For years, Leica Geosystems and Autodesk have shared a common vision to provideprovide industry professionals with a near-seamless data experience, which we continue to build on.” said Bryan Otey, director of Autodesk Reality Solutions. “Autodesk's technology ecosystem gives project teams the ability to use information more efficiently from design to construction. From data capture to consumption, this is an important relationship for our customers. "

We are witnessing the technological evolution, through these technology giants, we continue to await the advances to come.
