Comparison between ArcGIS and SuperGIS (which is now in Spanish)
I have always liked comparisons, in this case and on the occasion of celebrating that SuperGIS in Spanish is now available, we show this comparison between ArcGIS and SuperGIS in their desktop versions. Clarifying that some aspects that are equivalent are compared, other ESRI / Supergeo applications we would see in future comparisons.

It is interesting to see how SuperGIS, rather than creating its own functionalities, seeks to do what users already know in ArcGIS 10, as seen in the previous table.
On both platforms, ArcGIS and SuperGIS, only the topological analysis extension is included in the release, the others require purchase separately.
The next video shows a double window sequence, where the same routine is being done in both programs.
In conclusion, what is done with both programs can do the same, in some aspects including SuperGIS surpasses.
Price wise: SuperGIS costs less than half that of ArcGIS.
And with respect to the other novelty, we have been very pleased to receive an almost final version of SuperGIS 3.1a that is about to be launched this month, and it is not for less surprise and satisfaction to know that:
Already includes Spanish language
I must admit that our intention to get to know SuperGIS a few months ago was motivated by their willingness to enter the Spanish-speaking market to compete from you to you with ESRI. And that in such a short time they have included our language ... it shows the aggressiveness of a tool that was born in Taiwan but is positioning itself very well in Asia and the Middle East.
How to change the language in SuperGIS
For this you have to do:
Tools> customize
And here select the Local tab.
Translation: Pretty good.
For our Hispanic environment, competition is good and in the end the winner is the user, since the existence of competitive software at a lower price and the growth that free software is having compels the private company to work more in the service And not take advantage of the monopolization of the market.
That good for SuperGIS, that well for our Hispanic context.
I am looking for a specialized course in arcGIS for property cadastre
that is in Ecuador
This is Fernando. In another article we will evaluate other tools and extensions.
Greetings.
Only some Desktop functionalities are compared. ArcGIS Desktop has many more extensions that are not mentioned. ArcGIIS Server, ArcGIIS Online, ArcGIS Runtime for developers of any platform (Android, IOS, etc) or talk.
Let each one draw their own conclusions about what is comparable and what is not. ArcGIS has long ceased to be a product to become a platform that provides organizations with the technological infrastructure, the content needed for analysis and applications to exploit the information both by GIS experts and users who simply need smart maps to take better decisions in your day, day.
