Dimensioning with AutoCAD - Section 6

27.2.4 Quick Quotas

The fast dimensions are generated by selecting the objects to be delimited and establishing the height of the reference lines, without the need for other options. This command, however, can create unexpected effects, since it takes all the vertices of the polylines and generates its dimension. In other cases it can speed up work a lot.

27.2.5 Continuous dimensions

Continuous dimensions are very common in flat houses. They are created simply by taking the last point of the previous dimension as the starting point. Although it is necessary to indicate the end point of each dimension, it has as an advantage over the fast dimensions a greater control of each dimension segment. In addition, all dimensions are perfectly aligned. It should be noted that, just like the baseline coordinates, there must also be a linear dimension from which to continue.

27.2.6 Angle dimensions

Angular dimensions, as the name implies, show the value of the angle formed at the intersection of two lines. When executing the command we must indicate those lines, or the vertex and the ends that form the angle.
The location that we give to the dimension, will indicate the value of the corresponding angle.

27.2.7 Radius and Diameter dimensions

The radius and diameter dimensions apply to circles and arcs. When we choose any of these commands, we simply must indicate the object to which it should be applied. By definition, the radius dimensions are preceded by the letter R, those of diameter by the symbol Ø.

If the conditions of the drawing do not allow to delimit a radius with enough clarity, as we established in the criteria exposed at the beginning of this chapter, then we can create a radius coordinate with a bend, which, simply, allows to show the radio elevation in a different position than usual, or creating an arc extension if necessary, so as to improve the display of the dimension.
However, the button to create a radius coordinate with a bend is independent of the conventional radio coordinates.
