3D Drawing with AutoCAD - Section 8

35.4 Animations

35.4.1 ShowMotion

ShowMotion is a tool that allows you to group different saved views of the drawing and create a PowerPoint presentation (slide show) with them, or a presentation with basic animations with predetermined movements with camera movements around the model. To activate ShowMotion we use the button of the navigation bar that is usually to the right of the drawing area.
Once active, you will see your toolbar at the bottom of the interface. On the bar, windows that represent the different categories in which you can group the slides or animations and in turn on these, miniatures of each slide or animation.

With the new button in the ShowMotion toolbar we can create new slides or animations and decide if they are part of a created category or if, at the same time, we add another one. In the case of slides, similar to PowerPoint, we must decide in the dialog box how long it will last on the screen, how long your transition and what type of transition you will have. If you create a well-planned sequence of slides, the result will be a presentation of the model through the play button on the ShowMotion toolbar.

Instead of creating a presentation with static slides, we can create others with animations preset to the model from the current view. When you press the button for a new slide, you simply have to select Kinematic in the type of view, with in the dialog box the options to configure that animation appear.

Surely you already noticed that the third option is to create a slide with animation recorded from the movement around the model we do with the mouse. However, such a walk is somewhat limited with respect to some 3D navigation tools that we have already studied, however, it may be a variant to be used in some cases.

It is possible to say that in the previous examples we have created a category of ShowMotion for each type of view that a slide can have, however, you can mix the different types within each category as required to create the presentation of your model.
